       How to get the correct seal every time!!

·       Don’t measure the old seal

Please avoid the common practice of measuring the old seal and asking for that size. All seals either shrink or swell in service and an old seal will never regain its original size. In many cases an incorrect seal was originally installed (perhaps because of expediency at that time).  

·       Please measure the equipment and give us the correct size!!!

Use a vernier to measure the parts that will house the seal -then we will be able to give you a seal designed for that size of groove. 

·       Seals fail because: -

1.The wrong size is being used. This is by far the most common cause of failures.

 2.Installation damage.

 3.Faulty accommodation of the seal. (Bad machining or cracks and scratches are the main culprits)

 4. Worn wear-rings and bushes.

 ·         Correct seals installed into well made components give many cycles of trouble -free service

 Please give your supplier the correct information and you will be assured of the correct component
